Philipsburg Heritage Days will celebrate their 20th
Anniversary with their celebration starting July 11th with the
community Vesper Service to be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church
at 7:00 P.M. Part of the Vesper Service will be the Community
Service Awards to businesses and organizations that are celebrating significant
anniversaries. The activities will begin
downtown on Front Street on Wednesday, July 12th and will continue
to Sunday, July 16th. This year will be the largest array of crafts,
food vendors and commercial exhibits. There will be kid’s games
throughout the day and nightly entertainment on the Front Street Stage. Saturday will
be the Grand Parade that will begin at 2 P.M. and will be one of the
largest parades yet with over 14 bands and other marching units and floats.
The Jaffa Shrine is bringing their Potentate's Caravan to
the parade. They
only go to 2 parades a year and will be bringing 20-25 units including their
mounted patrol with 20+ horses. The event closes on Sunday with the
annual car show beginning at 9:00 A.M. and ending at 3:00 P.M. The Heritage Days Committee invites everyone
to come and enjoy meeting old friends and celebrating the heritage of our town.
