If you are serious about deepening the lived experience of your Catholic faith, you may want to consider becoming a 4th Sunday Volunteer at the Benner State Correctional Institution in Bellefonte. The Benner prison, an institution next to but separate from Rockview Prison, is home to an active Catholic community. Every 4th Sunday, a group of faith-filled volunteers comes to the institution to pray with the men at Holy Mass and to share in genuine Christian fellowship with the inmates. While this is a unique form of outreach, it can be very rewarding. If you are interested in participating in this work of mercy, there will be a meeting with Fr. Aaron Maghsoudi, Catholic Chaplain at Benner, on Thursday, February 19th, at St. John's Rectory in Bellefonte at 7 p.m. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Fr. Aaron at 814-832-2137. Please prayerfully consider this opportunity for grace, remembering that when we visit our least brothers in prison, we visit Christ himself.
