Fr. John will be presenting an "Instructional Mass" during all Masses next weekend. From the moment he arrives on the Altar, Fr. John will celebrate the Mass while explaining "why we do what we do" and "what we should be doing as Mass participants" during the Mass. From an explanation of his vestments to the meaning behind the entrance procession, etc., Fr. John will educate his parish family on the meaning of the Catholic mass and all its nuances. It will prove to be a very interesting Mass and for some, it will be the first time we receive this type of information. Following the 10:00 a.m. Mass next Sunday, Fr. John will offer a tour of the church and the sacristy so that all may fully appreciate and understand the various aspects of our church building. CCD students in grades 7-11 are asked to remain in the church after Mass for this tour. And all parishioners are invited to attend and participate in the tour as well. Fr. John hopes that "understanding the Mass" will help us all to appreciate the very foundation of our Catholic faith.
