LITURGICAL REFLECTION

posted Nov 2, 2016, 11:58 AM by Church Office
What will resurrection be like for you?  Jesus is not specific in the Gospel, but he does state that life will be different.  The limitations of this life will be transformed; the social conventions and relationships we know here are changed after death.  Nonetheless, our faith tells us that those who practice mercy will be greatly rewarded.  We who feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, care for the sick, visit the imprisoned, and bury the dead will know the new life of resurrection.  To those who convert sinners, instruct the ignorant, advise the doubtful, comfort the sorrowful, bear wrongs patiently, forgive injuries, and pray for the living and the dead, theirs is the kingdom of God.  Mercy will bring us home to the Lord.
