As
catastrophic flooding continues to affect the Gulf Coast region of our country,
Bishop Mark is asking the faithful to pray for the victims of
Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey and offer financial support. The Bishop has asked the clergy of the
Diocese to take up a special collection at every parish, church and chapel in
Altoona-Johnstown as soon as possible Second collections will be taken next weekend
at all of our Masses. All monies collected
will go to Catholic Charities USA, which is already assisting in the areas
affected by the storm. Bishop Mark urges
the faithful to be as generous as possible.
There are no special envelopes for this collection, however if you would
like your donations recorded, please use a plain envelope with your name and
envelope number on it. Also, last
weekend’s tithing check was donated to the American Red Cross to help these
victims. |
