Nancy Verost, Treasurer of Ss. Peter and Paul's Altar and Rosary Society, announced the profit amounts from the 2013 Pierogie Sales and the Peanut Butter Cup Cream Pie Fundraiser. "Most importantly," Nancy said, "we must first thank the volunteers who make all these fundraisers possible. This year our volunteers made 7,500 total pierogies!!!!" This is an incredible number of pierogies when you consider they were made during seven work sessions. "We had an extra day this year to work . . . and our volunteers showed up FAITHFULLY each and every week to make sure we didn't run out of pierogies." Linda Garvey, President of Altar and Rosary said, "We really have a fun time when we get together.“ She noted the large number of volunteers--both men and women. "I just cannot believe how well our people work together... we're like a well-oiled pierogie-making machine," she laughed. Total pierogie sales rendered $2,583.00 in profits. The pie fundraiser was also successful. "We originally wanted to sell 50 pies," Linda said. "But we ended up selling 81! And we had even more orders after the pie sale was over!" The total profit from the pie sale was $314.40. Linda ended, "We were just thrilled with the response from our parishioners! Thank you to everyone who bought pies . . . and pierogies, too!!" With both the pierogie and pie sale profits, Altar and Rosary deposited $2,897.40 after their Lenten fundraisers. Congratulations, Altar and Rosary! All proceeds will be used to purchase much needed items for the church, rectory, and Parish Hall. The parish family of Ss. Peter and Paul would like to express our gratitude to the members of Altar and Rosary and the volunteers who donate so much time and effort to our parish. Thank you!
