A new collection is being taken to help support the Archdiocese for Military Services--the last line of spiritual defense for the men and women who fight our wars. About 250 Catholic chaplains now serve on active duty. They minister to Catholics in the armed forces and nation's military academies. Another 250 Catholic chaplains specifically serve patients in the nation's 153 Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers. All told, 1.8 million Catholics and their families depend on those approximately 500 priest-chaplains for spiritual sustenance. This collection will take place during Masses on the weekend of November 9th and 10th. Please place the specially marked envelopes in the regular collection baskets. Label any regular envelopes used with "Military Chaplains & Priests.'
