BLESSING OF ANIMALS

posted Sep 19, 2017, 11:57 AM by Mary Tocimak
As autumn arrives, a procession of animals, everything from dogs, cats and hamsters are led to the church for a special ceremony called the Blessing of Pets.  This is usually done near or on the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi.  For single households, a pet can be a true companion.  Many people arrive home from work to find a furry friend overjoyed at their return.  Many a senior has a lap filled with a purring cat or kitten.  The love given to a pet, and received from a pet, can draw us more deeply into the large circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our Creator.  Fr. John will be blessing animals, Saturday, October 7th at noon in the Church parking lot.  In case of rain it will be held in the Church Garage.
