IMPROVEMENT FUND CAMPAIGN   As of last Sunday, June 27th, we have received $18,660 towards our Improvement Fund Campaign of $30,000.  Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.

CHURCH HISTORY   Fr. John and Julie Houston are going to be working on putting together a “Church History” book for our parish.   If you have any records, pictures, stories, etc. about our parish that you would like to have this included in this book, please contact Fr. John or drop items off at the Church Office.  We will make copies of any items and return the originals to you.

FATHER JOHN will be away starting after Mass Monday morning, July 5th, and will return for Confession, Mass and Scripture Study on Thursday, July 8th.  If you need anything, please call the Church Office.

AA MEETING will not be held this Monday, July 5th.

FAMILIES AND THE GOSPEL   Today’s gospel is so familiar, it hurts!  The hometown folks could not accept the presence of God in Jesus.  After all, they had watched him grow up.  We can easily make the same mistake if we do not see God present in the ordinary routines of our family.  “The Lord be with you” is a statement of face.  Believe it.  Live it.

ALTOONA CURVE BASEBALL / 3rd BASE PICNIC AREA   An evening out at the Altoona Curve is taking place on Sunday, August 1st at 6:00 P.M.  We have reserved the 3rd Base Picnic Area which will seat 50 people.  A sign-up sheet for 50 people has been placed on the Cry Room shelf.  The Parish will be paying for all tickets for this outing since there was no Parish Dinner in January and no picnic planned for this summer.  Along with your ticket there will be BBQ Ribs, grilled chicken breasts, hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, chips, cookies and soda.  This is on a first come sign-up basis, we can only purchase 50 tickets for this area.

FALL FEST   Fall Fest will be held on Sunday, October 24th and parishioners are being asked to help make this event a success by donating baskets to be raffled, gift cards and lottery tickets.  You can also help by selling and/or purchasing 50/50 tickets which will be available shortly for $1 a ticket or 6 for $5.00.  Also help will be needed to setup, cleanup or work during the festival. Please mark your calendars now for a day of fun and fellowship and watch the bulletin for more information.

FR. JOHN OFFERS COUNSELING UPON REQUEST which includes Marriage, Individual, Family or Drug and Alcohol Counselling.  He also has AA meetings on Monday evenings at 7:30 P.M. in the Rectory.  He was specially trained during his time in the seminary and has always offered this type of service as a priest.  Please contact Fr. John to discuss the opportunity for counseling or to make an appointment.  He is also available for Spiritual Direction for individuals who request it.  All counseling is free of charge.
