posted Feb 17, 2021, 6:40 AM by Church Office

OLD PALMS   Baskets have been placed in the front and back of the Church for you to return your old Palms that will be burned for Ashes.

PRAYER FOR CATHOLIC FAMILIES BOOKLETS have been placed throughout the Church for your use in praying during this Lenten Season.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS & ADORATION will be celebrated Friday evenings during Lent at 7:00 P.M.  Adoration for 30 minutes will follow Stations.  Due to the Covid, booklets will be provided for you and it is encouraged that you take them home and bring them back each week so that we do not have to print more.

“40 CANS for LENT”   The following are ongoing items needed by the Food Bank for our “40 Cans for Lent” collection:  Soups, Juices, Rice, Cereal, Flour, Sugar, Ramen-type Noodles, Cakes Mixes, Brownie Mixes, Pie Fillings, Jello, Coffee, Tea, Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, Macaroni & Cheese, Canned Vegetables, Mayonnaise, Miracle Whip, Ketchup, Mustard, Salad Dressings, Spices, Soda Crackers/Saltines, Powdered Hot Chocolate Mix and other Instant Drink Mixes.  Cans of food may be dropped off in the back of the Church now through Holy Thursday.  The official goal for this year has been set at 1,500 pounds.

  1. Gratitude: Begin by thanking God in a personal dialogue for whatever you are most grateful for today.
  2. Awareness: Revisit the times of the past twenty-four hours when you were and were not the-best-version-of-yourself. Talk to God about these situations and what you learned from them.
  3. Significant Moments: Identify something you experienced today and explore what God might be trying to say to you through that event (or person).
  4. Peace: Ask God to forgive you for any wrong you have committed (against yourself, another person, or Him) and to fill you with a deep and abiding peace.
  5. Freedom: Speak with God about how he is inviting you to change your life, so that you can experience the freedom to be the-best-version-of-yourself.
  6. Others: Lift up to God anyone you feel called to pray for today, asking God to bless and guide them.
  7. Finish by praying the Our Father.
